Vitamin D

Do you know vitamin D is essential for maintaining our overall health and wellbeing? and critical for preventing disease and illnesses?

Vitamin D is sometimes called the “sunshine vitamin” because it’s produced in your skin in response to sunlight. It is responsible for reducing your risk of multiple sclerosis, according to a 2006 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, It also decreases your chance of developing heart disease, according to 2008 findings published in CirculationTrusted Source and helps to reduce your likelihood of developing the flu, according to 2010 research published in the American Journal of Clinical NutritionTrusted Source

Epidemiological studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is closely associated with common chronic diseases such as bone metabolic disorders, tumors, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes and is also a risk factor for neuropsychiatric disorders and autoimmune diseases. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5440113/)

It is something that most of us are deficient in due to our heavily slip slop slap approach to sun and also our hours of work, which do not allow enough outdoor hours to gain the vitamin D we need. Supplements are a good way to boast your vitamin D range and is something i personally take daily and also supplement my children with. It is one thing we need to boast out immune system and keep ourselves healthy and well.
