Goldenrod is part of the daisy family and has a slightly sweet and astringent taste. Reported to have more antioxidants than green tea, Goldenrod is used to support and strengthen the circulatory and cardiovascular systems.
Actions include: antifungal, diuretic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, diaphoretic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, astringent, antiseptic and carminative.
Common medicinal uses include: to treat bladder and urinary systems, nourish the kidneys, calm runny nose and eyes, sore throats and to expel mucous from the lungs. Externally, can be used for wounds, burns and healing skin conditions as well as relieving muscle and joint aches.
Goldenrod is approved by the German Commission E for the use of urinary tract infections and kidney stone.
